Contest in partnership with Technical University, Sofia

CATEGORIES OF THE CONTEST

The categories in which proposals will be accepted are:

• Increasing the level of technology in the construction of buildings;
• Development of new generation building materials;
• Intelligent management of buildings;
• New automated technologies in the maintenance of the buildings;
• Green technologies;
• Increasing low-emission building footprints;
• Technologies in the field of facilities management;
• Building automation, lighting and robotics;
• Energy storage systems and technologies;
• Other green technologies.

CONDITIONS OF PARTICIPATION

Groups of students in regular or part-time study, doctoral students and/or teachers from the Technical University – Sofia, are entitled to participate in the competition. Participation in the competition is voluntary and each group can submit one proposal. Proposals for participation in the competition are submitted in Bulgarian. It is recommended to have a summary in English. 

REGULATIONS AND TERMS

The contest began with an open lecture, a seminar for all interested parties is coming up, after which its actual working part will begin.

OPEN LECTURE

In order to familiarize the interested parties with the competition and provide more information, "Lozen Tech Park" EOOD and theTechnical University – Sofia held an open lecture on the topic: "Role of Technology and Innovation in the Modern World". The lecture took place on October 31, 2024 in Conference Hall "Prof. Tsvetan Lazarov" – Block 8, TU-Sofia and the participants were:

• Rosen Plevneliev - President of the Republic of Bulgaria 2012 – 2017. and Chairman of the Advisory Board of Lozen Tech Park;

• Аssoc.Prof.Dr. Georgi Hristov Ranchev -  General Manager of  "Lindner Immobilien Management" EOOD and "Lozen Tech Park" EOOD, Head of the "Financial Control" Department, UNSS.   
• Dobromir Ivanov - Executive Director of the Bulgarian Entrepreneur Association and Member of the Advisory Board of Lozen Tech Park.

SEMINAR

On the 4th of March 2025 from 15.30 in the "Prof. Tsvetan Lazarov" Hall of the Technical University of Sofia will take place a seminar aimed at all those interested and willing to participate. The seminar’s objective is to explain in detail the regulation of the competition, give some guidelines for work and answer all questions from the participants.

DEADLINES

Start of the competition: 01.11.2024

Participants in the competition should send their presentations of their idea in the following format:

• graphic and text materials (up to 5000 words) entirely digitally through the participation form below;
• drawings, models and other materials (on request) at the address: "Lozen Tech Park", Sofia, Sofia Park district, Trade Zone, Block 16V, floor 1, office 1.3.

When submitting, two names of each group participant should be provided, as well as at least one e-mail and phone number for feedback.

Deadline for handing over the developments by: 31.03.2025.

Presentations and holding a meeting of the jury with the finalists and announcement of the results and the winners оn the 29th of April 2025.

JURY, EVALUATION AND AWARDS

JURY

Representatives of the Advisory Board of "Lozen Tech Park" EOOD and the Lindner group will participate in the jury.

All received proposals for participation will be evaluated according to the following criteria:

• innovativeness;
• degree of impact;
• possibility of implementation.

AWARDS

"Lozen Tech Park" EOOD will present the following awards for the most outstanding projects.

• First place - diploma and prize money in the amount of BGN 5,000;
• Second place - diploma and prize money in the amount of BGN 3,500;
• Third place - diploma and prize money in the amount of BGN 1,500.

"Lozen Tech Park" EOOD will also provide an additional special prize money in the amount of BGN 5,000, which will be awarded to one of the winners of the three contests held in partnership with TU-Sofia, UNWE and UACEG.

CLASSIFICATION

The author teams of the projects finally selected by the jury in each category will be invited to present them within 15 minutes to the jury. After the presentations, the winners will be announced and and a special awarding ceremony will be held for the winning projects, which will take place оn the 29th of April 2025.

The winners and their projects will be announced on the website of “Lozen Tech Park” -www.lozentechpark.com and the Technical University - Sofia (TU).

PROJECT IMPLEMENTATION

The competition regulations stipulate that the awarded participants shall actively participate together with Lozen Tech Park in the development of the respective awarded conceptual development/project. They also undertake not to participate with the awarded development/project in other competitions, not to distribute it and not to offer it for further development and implementation to third parties.
The awarded participants shall assist in promoting the supported activity by participating in meetings, presentations, providing interviews, videos, photos, appropriate posts on social media, etc.
