CATEGORIES
The categories, in which proposals will be accepted are:
1. Economic sustainability
- Management of sustainable development
Current solutions, related to the management of sustainable development. New criteria, metrics and innovative policies. - Green opportunities
Green opportunities for Bulgaria and guidelines for sustainable raw material consumption, logistics and infrastructure solutions to increase energy efficiency
2. Sustainable finances
- Financial and economic models for sustainable development and green technologies;
- Financing and green investments;
- Accounting and control systems, models and schemes as part of the process to ensure a sustainable economic and social environment.
3. Innovations and technologies
- Information technologies, in support of sustainable development and green technologies. Urban areas that use digital technologies to improve productivity and well-being, reduce costs and resource consumption.
4. Social sustainability
- Sustainable employment and increasing social responsibility among business and society
- Promotion and education of green ideas
Public engagement and education on sustainability are critical to fostering an environmentally aware society that actively engages in sustainable practices through digital platforms and applications, educational and awareness campaigns
5. Governance and politics
- Legislative and administrative environment
Creating an appropriate legislative, administrative and academic environment and incentives for sustainable green technologies
CONDITIONS OF PARTICIPATION
Groups of a maximum of four people - up to three students and/or doctoral students in regular or part-time study, as well as optionally one teacher from the University of National and World Economy - are entitled to participate in the competition. Participation in the competition is voluntary and each group can submit one proposal. Proposals for participation in the competition are submitted in Bulgarian. It is recommended to have a summary in English.
REGULATIONS AND TERMS
The competition will start with an open lecture and will be followed by a workshop for all interested parties, after which its actual working part will start.
OPEN LECTURE
In order to familiarize the interested parties with the competition and provide more information, "Lozen Tech Park" EOOD and the University of National and World Economy are planning an open lecture on the topic: "Technologies and innovations for sustainable development". The lecture will take place on November 5, 2024 in the „Tarzhestvena“ Hall in the UNWE, and the participants will be:
- Rosen Plevneliev - President of the Republic of Bulgaria 2012 – 2017. and Chairman of the Advisory Board of Lozen Tech Park;
- Dobromir Ivanov - Executive Director of the Bulgarian Entrepreneur Association and Member of the Advisory Board of Lozen Tech Park;
- Аssoc. Prof. Dr. Georgi Ranchev - Head of the "Financial Control" Department, UNSS, General Manager of "Lindner Immobilien Management" EOOD and "Lozen Tech Park" EOOD.
SEMINAR
At the beginning of 2025, we plan to hold a seminar, aimed at all those interested and willing to participate. The seminar’s objective is to explain in detail the regulation of the competition, give some guidelines for work and answer all questions from the participants.
DEADLINES
Start of the competition: 01.11.2024
Participants in the competition should send their presentations of their idea in the following format:
• graphic and text materials (up to 5000 words) entirely digitally through the participation form below;
• drawings, models and other materials (on request) at the address: "Lozen Tech Park", Sofia, Sofia Park district, Trade Zone, Block 16V, floor 1, office 1.3.
When submitting, two names of each group participant should be provided, as well as at least one e-mail and phone number for feedback.
Deadline for handing over the developments by: 31.03.2025.
Presentations and holding a meeting of the jury with the finalists and announcement of the results and the winners by: 16.04.2025.
JURY, EVALUATION AND AWARDS
JURY
Representatives of the Advisory Board of "Lozen Tech Park" EOOD and the Lindner group will participate in the jury.
All received proposals for participation will be evaluated according to the following criteria:
- innovativeness;
- degree of impact;
- possibility of implementation.
AWARDS
"Lozen Tech Park" EOOD will present the following awards for the most outstanding projects.
- First place - diploma and prize money in the amount of BGN 5,000;
- Second place - diploma and prize money in the amount of BGN 3,500;
- Third place - diploma and prize money in the amount of BGN 1,500.
"Lozen Tech Park" EOOD will also provide an additional special prize money in the amount of BGN 5,000, which will be awarded to one of the winners of the three contests held in partnership with TU-Sofia, UNWE and UACEG.
CLASSIFICATION
The author teams of the projects finally selected by the jury in each category will be invited to present them within 15 minutes to the jury. After the presentations, the winners will be announced and and a special awarding ceremony will be held for the winning projects, which will take place before 16.04.2025.
The winners and their projects will be announced on the website of “Lozen Tech Park” - www.lozentechpark.com and UNWE.
